Israeli Airstrikes Kill 23 in Gaza Amid Intensified Conflict

Gaza: Israeli airstrikes overnight killed at least 23 people in Gaza, including three children and their parents who died when their tent was bombed near Khan Younis, according to Palestinian medics.

The strikes come as Israel escalates its military offensive following the breakdown of a temporary ceasefire last week. Hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed, struggling to handle the rising casualties.

The war, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in over 50,000 Palestinian deaths and 113,000 injuries, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Israel claims it has killed 20,000 Hamas fighters but has not provided verifiable evidence. The conflict was triggered when Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.

Amid the ongoing strikes, a nine-member Palestinian ambulance team has been missing for days after Israeli forces allegedly targeted them in Rafah. Israel claims the ambulances were being used by militants but has not presented proof. Palestinian journalist Hossam Shabat was killed in an Israeli strike, with Israeli authorities accusing him of being a Hamas sniper—an allegation denied by his employer, Al Jazeera.

Additionally, Palestinian filmmaker Hamdan Ballal, co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, was attacked by Israeli settlers and later detained by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. His current location remains unknown.

With airstrikes intensifying and casualties rising, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens. The conflict continues to claim civilian lives, fueling international concerns over the war’s growing devastation
